Fulfilling orders

Morning: Here we go, I started building another DC2N for the first one on my pre-order list, Nigel Parker. The soldering job is almost done:

The next step is carving the box and testing the unit before shipping it.

Fulfilling orders

Morning: That was faster than I thought. DC2N box is ready:

Only a bit of soldering is missing now, along with testing.

Testing again

Evening: Not too much time to work at it, but it's almost finished and under test:

I will go on with the test plan during the coming week.

New keys

Evening: I experienced a problem with the keypad I had mounted on the DC2N, so that I built a new one today which proved to work properly. I also updated the firmware with a new capability I felt the need of.

Testing with new keys

Evening: Well, all of the tests have been repeated with the new keypad today. The unit works fine!

New SD Card

Evening: I recently bought a 2 GB SD Card (SanDisk Extreme III) for less than 13 pounds. The E III has proven to be the fastest and most reliable memory for continuous dumping/saving purposes with DC2N (not a single failure because of a bottleneck in write speed for Peepo and myself). 80X TEK-Q cards work almost as good as E III in write operations, even if the first sectors seem to be a bit slower. SanDisk Cards are generally better than Kingston ones in write operations. Any manufacturer has proven to be OK for playback purposes (not a single failure because of a bottleneck in read speed).
