The D1541 diary
Hi to all. Welcome to the official diary page for the D1541 project I'm actually working at.
Here you find the latest development news about this project.
The official D1541 project homepage can be found here.

Starting again
Evening: I started to put together the ideas for the D1541. I am working at the schematics for I already
captured the requirements for the 1st stage.

Schematics
Morning: The 1541-II schematics I have (of which I also got an A3 printing!) are quite accurate and they
match the 1541-II I have here for testing purposes. It is clear to me where to hack the hardware and how to start
dumping original protected disks.
There's quite some work I need to do actually and it also involves creating some PC software for dump inspection.

No more publishing
Evening: Due to the nature of D1541 competitors, I decided to keep its development private
so that I will not be publishing any other diary entry for this project.
What I am concerned about is that this project may be seen just as a new alternative for using
cracked D64s. D1541 is primarily a dumping unit to let people make a backup of protected disks that
not even parallel nibblers can reproduce.
